Jacuzzi History
Jacuzzi is the largest selling brand of jetted whirlpool baths, hot tubs and spas in the world. Jacuzzi originates from the hydrotherapy pump that was invented in 1956 by the Jacuzzi brothers.

In 1968 Roy Jacuzzi, a third generation family member, sensed the American consumers interest in health, fitness and leisure activities and went on to invent and market the first self-contained, fully integrated whirlpool bath with body jets incorporated into the sides of the tub.

The first hot tub was born in 1970 when Jacuzzi included a heating and filtration system within the tub to keep the water warm and clean. This was especially important for larger tubs that were being designed to accommodate more people, and the inclusion of the system meant that the hot tub could be used outside.

Jacuzzi was sold to Kidde Inc. of New York in 1979. Roy Jacuzzi was the only family member to remain with the company and in 1990 he was recognised for his many contributions in the innovation of Hydrotherapy for home use, gaining him a place in the USA National Kitchen and Bath Hall of Fame.

Jacuzzi today
In 2001, the Jacuzzi bathroom brand was expanded in the UK to offer a full contemporary bathroom collection. This expansion has led to Jacuzzi branded hot tubs, whirlpool baths, showers, toilets, sinks, and accessories being found ever more frequently in residential homes, hotels, and aboard cruise ships. The Jacuzzi range has also become popular in high-end spas around the world.

Jacuzzi continues to be a world leader in whirlpool baths, hot tubs and spas and boasts 250 worldwide patents for advancements in pump systems, jet technology and product design.
